2024 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots, William Fèvre

2024 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots, William Fèvre

This comes from two parcels at the bottom of the slope, by the river. Their soil lends the wine saltiness and minerality. Its special character has always stood out, and it’s been bottled separately from Bougros since 1998. It is tense, energetic and powerful with a piercing saline freshness. Outstanding.

Tasting notes

6 hl/ha. A pure and glowing lemon yellow. The precision of the bouquet is impressive, with a slight marine reduction. Fine boned yet with backbone. There is significant energy behind, this has absolutely retained the style of the vineyard, less intense than some years but exceptionally fine. Drink from 2029-2035. Tasted Jul 2025.

The 2024 Chablis Bougros Côte Bouguerots Grand Cru was limited to just four barrels this vintage. It has a crisp, stony bouquet with light-pressed white flower scents and sea spray. The palate is quite penetrating on the entry with a silver bead of acidity and plenty of orchard fruit mixed with chai and ginger. This is one of the most complex cuvées toward the finish. It deserves bottle age.
