Three parcels are blended here, creating a complex and crystalline wine. It has the honour of hosting the domaine’s oldest vines, which were planted in 1936. These add beautiful freshness, along with density of fruit. It is one of the most backward wines in the cellar, but the density and precision it possesses promise an exciting future. You are in no doubt of the greatness of this wine when tasting.

Under 10 hl/ha here, unfortunately. A little more lemon in the colour, and more perfumed in bouquet. The 2024 Montée de Tonnerre has all the fruit you could want, even a little honeysuckle, with good natural acidity, a long and charming finish, with good grip. Fine persistence, a lovely example. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Jul 2025
The 2024 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is not dissimilar on the nose to Les Lys this year. It's airy with apple blossom, hints of yellow fruit and honeysuckle opening nicely in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine poise and weight. This is a little Vaillon-like in terms of generosity but spicier, with traces of lemongrass on the aftertaste. The 2024 is excellent.
