2024 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent, William Fèvre

2024 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent, William Fèvre

Vaulorent is technically part of Fourchaume, the largest premier cru in Chablis, and is the only premier cru climat to share the same slope as the grand cru. It has very chalky soil and produces a wine of power and silky tension. It has a delicious nutty reduction, leading to a palate with powerful drive. Pushing grand cru structure.

Tasting notes

8 hl/ha. Fine lemon yellow. Less honeysuckle, more a softer white fruit on the nose. Lots of energy on the palate though, again slightly softer in style, with some ripe lemons, then fills out the finish quite nicely. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Jul 2025.

The 2024 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru comes from a 3.6-hectare plot that produced 12 barrels this vintage. It has impressive focus and mineralité on the nose, just fizzing with energy. The palate is medium-bodied, crisp and tensile, with fine acidity and a classically styled, flinty, citric finish. This is another great 2024 from William Fèvre.
