2015 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Domaine Long Depaquit

Sunny summer weather in 2015 gifted this wine with even more concentration and body than usual. Ample, rounded with an almost creamy texture, it is beautifully opulent, yet the tell-tale Chablis streak of acidity is very much here, lifting the aromatics with refreshing citrus fruit on the impressively long finish. A truly excellent Grand Cru Chablis.

2015 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Domaine Long Depaquit
Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin and Long Depaquit)

Founded in 1791, this domaine’s château remains the most impressive in Chablis. Now owned by Beaune-based house Albert Bichot, and benefitting from the expertise of Technical Director Alain Serveau, this is a Chablis domaine on the rise to the top of the appellation. La Moutonne is the wine that the estate is best known for, a monopole in the heart of the Grands Crus, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses. It’s in a natural amphitheatre where the wines can reach stunning ripeness for the region.
