2014 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Domaine Long Depaquit

Perfectly positioned halfway up the slope, this exposure gives power and huge depth of flavour. Grippy, almost tannic with 25% new oak, this has more than a hint of the Côte de Beaune, and is a very serious wine with a mineral streak and great texture.

2014 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Domaine Long Depaquit
Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin and Long Depaquit)

Founded in 1791, this domaine’s château remains the most impressive in Chablis. Now owned by Beaune-based house Albert Bichot, and benefitting from the expertise of Technical Director Alain Serveau, this is a Chablis domaine on the rise to the top of the appellation. La Moutonne is the wine that the estate is best known for, a monopole in the heart of the Grands Crus, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses. It’s in a natural amphitheatre where the wines can reach stunning ripeness for the region.
