2014 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, Samuel Billaud

This is a leaner, sleeker expression of Grand Cru with concentrated granny smith fruit and a stony, fresh intensity. It is the least evolved of the wines in the range but will blossom with bottle age. There is great finesse and huge potential.

2014 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses, Samuel Billaud
Domaine Samuel Billaud

Samuel set out on his own, from the family domaine Billaud-Simon a number of years ago with a negociant business, and this super-talented winemaker goes from strength to strength. He recently acquired some of his own vineyards from his late uncle: fitting additions to his superb portfolio of wines. Samuel is a producer to follow in every vintage with his level of quality and value for money: he makes some of our favourite Chablis, and is now definitely dining at the village's top table.
