2005 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos, Billaud-Simon
A fabulous nose that is a benchmark for stainless steel fermented and aged Grand Cru Chablis. A lovely wealth of scents in evidence here - the initial minerality is broadened with the most delightful ripe tropical fruits. Les Clos is regarded by most Chablis afficionados as the greatest of the Grands Crus and on the evidence of this wine, it would be difficult to challenge this claim. Layered, with an explosive palate of perfectly ripened fruit but with freshness in abundance.
