2024 Meursault 1er Cru Perrières, Domaine Ballot-Millot

Cellar Circle Exclusive

Along with Genevrières, you can rely on Perrières to be a sensational wine from Charles Ballot. It shows sophisticated reduction, with limestone bite on the palate and a mineral flourish on the finish. Scintillating.

Tasting notes

The 2024 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with appealing slate-like aromas combining beautifully with the citrus fruit. More reserved compared to the Les Genevrières, as you expect. The palate is surfeit with energy on the finish thanks to the line of acidity, fresh and sapid, with a touch of white pepper towards the intense finish. It feels tightly-coiled so be prepared to be patient. Readers should note that this cuvée may well be bottled later.

Pale lemon yellow. There is much less bouquet here, at least at first. Tightly wound, concentrated orchard fruit, more backward than Genevrières, yet with a plush finish. A mineral thread extends the finish. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Oct 2025.
