Tasting notes

The 2024 Meursault Les Genevrières 1er Cru has a very different bouquet to the Les Charmes, hints of oyster shell and seaweed filtering through the slightly honeyed citrus fruit. The palate is taut and fresh with fine acidity, perhaps a little more nervosité compared to the Les Charmes with a fresh citrus finish. This is another Meursault cut in a more elegant style. Very classy.

Mid lemon yellow. This Genevrières has all the hoped for herbal/mineral complexity, plus a certain amount of flesh which will refine and tighten up with the second winter. (Bottling in January? Not yet decided). A really high-class aftertaste, waves of fruit returning. Drink from 2029-2036. Tasted Oct 2025. 5 stars.
