This comes from the top of a limestone slope, which has very little topsoil, so the vines need to dig deep for sustenance. It’s pretty on the nose, with a subtle white blossom note. The palate is saline, with a hint of bitterness, recalling pink grapefruit. The length of the wine is carried on the shoulders of 30% new oak which gives it depth and grip. The vintage’s signature freshness is particularly vibrant in Les Tillets.
Mid lemon yellow, with a most attractive ripe fruit nose, still with its characteristic hint of lime blossom. Splendid energy on the palate, with a hillside thread providing limestone clarity, and just a little fresh pepper at the finish. In bottle. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Dec 2024.
