2022 St-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière, Hubert Lamy

2022 St-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière, Hubert Lamy

Clos de la Chatenière is a steep south-facing parcel enclosed by a wall, with 65-year-old vines. There are warmer red soils here, on the Puligny side of the village, and the wine is rich and exuberant. A high level of millerandages amongst the old vines produces an added concentration, and the wine displays a salty, complex character, with a serious and persuasive length.

Tasting notes

The 2022 Saint-Aubin Clos de la Chatenière 1er Cru comes from older vines planted in 1964 on chalky soils. This has another mineral-driven, almost penetrating bouquet that grabs the olfactory senses. The palate is well balanced, fresh and focused, with Clementine and lemon zest notes and a cohesive, persistent finish. It's very intense and the sapidity makes you want to drink more and more. You have been warned.
