2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Marc, Domaine Olivier Leflaive

2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Marc, Domaine Olivier Leflaive

This is 100% domaine-owned fruit from the tiny clos of just 1.7ha in the northern sector of Les Vergers on the Chassagne/St-Aubin border. There’s a sophisticated interplay between controlled and tantalising reduction and chiselled stone fruit weight. Crystalline and compelling.

Tasting notes

A faint lime streak in the colour. The bouquet is entrancingly perfumed, a little lemon verbena, excellent poise here, with the acidity licking gently at the fruit. This represents the best of 2022 in white, with the weight of fruit entirely in equilibrium and no excess flesh or alcohol. Drink from 2027-2034. Tasted: October 2023.
