2022 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, Domaine Ballot-Millot

2022 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, Domaine Ballot-Millot

In the Ballot-Millot cellar, Genevrières and Perrières are usually only split by a hair, as is the case in 2022. They are both outstanding. The vines in Genevrières are over 80 years old, and have weathered the hot summers well. The wine has weight and persistence, gorgeous amplitude and fabulous length.

Tasting notes

Mid lemon yellow. Here too the apples are on show on the nose, but fascinatingly complex, plenty of yellow fruit and ripe citrus, but with the detailed distinction of this cru. A really fine long finish, with enough acidity, more generous than some but totally in balance. Drink from 2029-2037. Tasted: October 2023.
