2013 Meursault-Charmes 1er Cru, Comtes Lafon

A hugely impressive showing from this great vineyard on the Puligny side of Meursault. Very focussed with laser like flavours and a plump generosity. Notes of aniseed, beurre noisette and a layered finish only found in the top, top wines. Easily the best Charmes in the village. A bottle of 1995 tasted later was sublime.
