2011 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches, Chanson Père et Fils

Clos des Mouches is the jewel in the Chanson crown and it’s easy to see why. Attractive ripe orchard fruit characters rise from the glass, alongside subtle oak spice. The palate is broad and mouthfilling, with concentrated bramley apple and an almost floral touch. Yet, it is the poise and elegance of this wine that make it a star, balancing the ripe fruit with a delicious freshness and stony minerality that carries through to a lingering finish.

Maison Chanson

At Domaine Chanson there is a clear balance between the old and new. The domaine's history is demonstrated by its fifteenth century cellars, situated in the historic centre of Beaune. Having been bought by Bollinger in the late 1990s, the estate has since undergone exciting improvements in both winery and vineyard, most notably turning to organic farming. They’re best known for the range of wines they make from the hillside above Beaune.
