There can’t be many village parcels with a better position than this. Indeed, the bottom half of the vineyard is premier cru. The top half runs above Les Fuées and meets with Bonnes-Mares at its northern edge. Long, smooth, and refined.
The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes includes fruit from Aux Barrières that is usually bottled separately. It has a very pleasant harmonious bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit, bay leaf and light forest floor scents. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, well balanced, a little vanilla on the finish from the oak that will be subsumed by the time of bottling. Quite a lingering spiciness here; this is a fine Vieilles Vignes that should give a decade's drinking pleasure.
