This very fine Volnay shows elegant red fruit, with nicely ripe, supple, fine tannins. There’s a little cinnamon and pink peppercorn spice in the background, too.
The 2024 Volnay Les Angles 1er Cru has an airy bouquet of red and black fruit combined with touches of rose and peony. The palate is medium-bodied with velvety tannins, fine acidity and a little more nuance than older vintages, with a dash of black pepper on the finish. Enjoy over the next decade.
