Les Beaux Monts is a staggeringly good vineyard site. Its wine is intense and energetic, with elegantly constructed tannins. The ageing potential is dialled up here. It is a wine of tremendous finesse already, but also one that promises much more in the years to come.

The 2024 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a similarly refined and understated bouquet like the Aux Brûlées, though maybe without quite the same degree of mineralité that heightens that cuvée. That said, the purity of fruit is very commendable. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins. Commendable balance and harmonious, there is just a tad more depth at the finish, to wit a composed Les Beaux Monts that delivers a welcome spicy residue on the aftertaste. Again, a classy Vosne-Romanée despite the growing season.
