The domaine has vines in two plots on either side of Nuits: Les Chariots in the south and Aux Lavières in the north. There is a Chambolle signature woven through the Nuits fruit here; the wine has nice firm structure yet remains silky overall.
The 2023 Nuits Saint-Georges Village (which Gilbert Felettig omitted in error during my tasting…couldn't leave this one out!) underwent a late malo and contains 20% whole bunch. Touches of dark chocolate inflect the nose. The stems are a little prominent now but will be subsumed with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and just a hint of cassis emerging on the finish. Drink this over the next six to ten years.
A fine rich purple, suggestive of ripe grapes with plums and raspberries. A sound plump Nuits-St-Georges with medium intensity and length. Darker fruit at the finish. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Dec 2024.
