Strictly limited to 6 bottles per customer Cool air comes down the valley between Morey-St-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, meaning Latricières is a little slower to mature than the other Gevrey Grands Crus. The wine shows tender, sweet red fruit on the nose with a lick of blood orange, with a more serious, savoury palate and supple, silky tannins. Elegant and refined already, with some age this will take on even more depth and weight.
The 2023 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has a floral bouquet, with wilted rose petals infusing brambly red fruit. It opens nicely but discretely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and the good backbone that you expect from this Grand Cru, alongside just a hint of white pepper from the stems on the finish. This is nicely composed, and I would drink it over the next 15 years.
Medium ruby purple. The bouquet builds slowly and steadily, with the floral side of raspberries, very stylish more than intense. The wood shows rather more prominently here, with a useful touch of acidity behind. Drink from 2032-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.
