2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles, Domaine de la Vougeraie
Winemaker Pierre Vincent crafts some of the most impeccable, polished white and red wines in Burgundy from biodynamically farmed vineyards. His reds, especially at the top end, are vinified with a high amount of whole clusters and see considerable new oak during élevage, resulting in beautifully complex, balanced and ageworthy wines. Les Evocelles was the Domaine’s first vineyard – it’s a dream plot, located on a steep east/south east facing slope, with calcareous soil. Jasper Morris awards 90-92 pts.
