2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Domaine du Clos Frantin

Dark and broody, with exotic, opulent spice and a dark chocolate character, this is one of the richer wines of the vintage. The tannins are very ripe while remaining suave, however, ensuring that this Echézeaux doesn’t lack finesse.

2015 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Domaine du Clos Frantin
Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin and Long Depaquit)

Founded in 1791, this domaine’s château remains the most impressive in Chablis. Now owned by Beaune-based house Albert Bichot, and benefitting from the expertise of Technical Director Alain Serveau, this is a Chablis domaine on the rise to the top of the appellation. La Moutonne is the wine that the estate is best known for, a monopole in the heart of the Grands Crus, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses. It’s in a natural amphitheatre where the wines can reach stunning ripeness for the region.
