2015 Fixin 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière, Albert Bichot

Silky and fresh, with purity of fruit the order of the day, this is a gorgeous expression of the Grand Cru that should have been. Notes of raspberry and violets leap from the glass, with a finish that's both fine and textured, with depth of flavour. Very good Pinot Noir.

2015 Fixin 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière, Albert Bichot

The maiden 2015 Fixin 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière has a fragrant, perfumed bouquet with open red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, one of the most attractive among Bichot's 2015s. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy red cherry and raspberry fruit, good depth and a crisp line of acidity. It feels sensual towards the smooth finish, completing what is a very competent debut. I look forward to tasting more in the future.

Albert Bichot (Clos Frantin and Long Depaquit)

Founded in 1791, this domaine’s château remains the most impressive in Chablis. Now owned by Beaune-based house Albert Bichot, and benefitting from the expertise of Technical Director Alain Serveau, this is a Chablis domaine on the rise to the top of the appellation. La Moutonne is the wine that the estate is best known for, a monopole in the heart of the Grands Crus, between Vaudésir and Les Preuses. It’s in a natural amphitheatre where the wines can reach stunning ripeness for the region.
