2013 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, Marchand-Tawse

More feminine, perfumed and fruitier than the it's neighbour, Clos St-Denis, there are menthol notes mixed with red cherry and a touch of earthy strawberry fruit. In the mouth it is multi-layered, with a plush texture and enough grip and tension to mean that this will age gracefully.

2013 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, Marchand-Tawse
Domaine Marchand-Tawse

Domaine Tawse is the part of the Marchand-Tawse stable that owns vineyards, including the Gevrey-Chambertin based Domaine Maume, purchased in 2013. Englishman Mark Fincham is responsible for these wines, including beautiful holdings of Mazis-Chambertin, and the wines here improve every year, including low-sulphur bottlings, and wines that demonstrate the array of Burgundy’s terroirs.
