2013 Beaune Rouge 1er Cru Clos des Fèves, Domaine Chanson

Whole bunch winemaking promotes opened aromatics at an early stage, and the intensely floral nose of this year’s Clos des Fèves certainly demonstrates this. On the palate there is no shortage of power and concentration; the rich fruit is matched by plenty of complexity and a typically Beaune tannic structure. This is classy and should age very well indeed.

2013 Beaune Rouge 1er Cru Clos des Fèves, Domaine Chanson
Maison Chanson

At Domaine Chanson there is a clear balance between the old and new. The domaine's history is demonstrated by its fifteenth century cellars, situated in the historic centre of Beaune. Having been bought by Bollinger in the late 1990s, the estate has since undergone exciting improvements in both winery and vineyard, most notably turning to organic farming. They’re best known for the range of wines they make from the hillside above Beaune.
