2012 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes, Méo-Camuzet

Normally a fuller-bodied style of Vosne-Romanée, however the 2012 is intensely floral and quite taut. There is excellent tension thanks to the piano wire-like acidity, yet the pure raspberry liqueur core is softened up by the trademark velvety texture and mouth feel one expects from this domaine. This is a very fine and elegant example of Les Chaumes.
