2012 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Boudots, Domaine Gagey, Louis Jadot

Situated on the northern border of the commune, immediately neighbouring the hallowed Vosne-Romanée 1er cru of Malconsorts. The wines retain the characteristic masculinity of Nuits, but with some of the underlying energy and sensuality of its neighbour. Nuits-St-Georges was a highpoint of 2012 and it’s not hard to see why with this darkly attractive and densely structured wine – an underlying florality and taut-mineral core lend energy and vivacity. Superb.
