2012 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Domaine de la Vougeraie
Winemaker Pierre Vincent crafts some of the most impeccable, polished white and red wines in Burgundy from biodynamically farmed vineyards. His reds, especially at the top end, are vinified with a high amount of whole clusters and see considerable new oak during élevage, resulting in beautifully complex, balanced and ageworthy wines. This comes from two parcels, one at the top of the Clos and the other at the bottom, with plantings going back to the 1940s. Antonio Galloni awards 93-95 pts.
