2011 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg
From the Vosne side of the Nuits-St-Georges appellation, this cuvée has a fragrant and attractive nose and a delicious freshness to the palate. This belies a hidden structural strength provided by the velvet tannins. One colleague described it succinctly as having "energy and freshness, combined with power and richness".
