Grivot’s Echézeaux vines are located in the excellent Cruots lieu dit and produce wines of beauty and intricate complexity. Fabulous sweet red Pinot fruit, subtle spice and mineral notes are enveloped within the most perfect of textures. The wine seems to totally coat your mouth and at the same time be almost weightless. This leaves you with an incredible sensory experience of utter harmony and the purest of tastes. Sublime, dreamy red Burgundy at its very best.

2011 Echézeaux Grand Cru, Jean Grivot
Domaine Jean Grivot

Patriarch Jean Grivot passed on the domaine to his son, Etienne, in 1987, who is now passing the torch on to his daughter Mathilde. With densely planted old vines, tended organically, yields are low and complexity high. As the grapes pass through Etienne and Mathilde’s cellar, her lightness of touch builds on the trend of this superb address towards purity and refinement, without losing any of the tell-tale structure. At this benchmark Burgundy domaine, Grivot’s wines remain impressive.
