2010 Echézeaux Les Loachausses Grand Cru, Anne Gros
The (relatively) young age of this parcel of Echézeaux – 28 years old – means that the wines Anne makes from its fruit are getting better every year. The nose is quite powerful and intense, with dark berries and just a hint of leafiness in the background. On the palate, this shows a huge body and firm tannic structure, marking it as a candidate for long-term ageing. The finish is long and dominated by a wave of rich white chocolate that coats the juicy fruit. This is a serious effort and should have a great future.
