2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, Humbert Frères

A deep dark forest-floor nose, brooding and rich in character with a hint of vanilla right on the end. Morello cherry, blueberry and blackcurrant flavours combine to give a great purity of fruit hit then a perfect balance of acidity and tannin. Simply stunning.

2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, Humbert Frères
Domaine Humbert Frères

Ten years ago, the Humbert brothers swapped roles with Manou moving into the winery and Frédéric into the vineyard, and they haven’t looked back since. A larger than life, rugby-playing winemaker, Manou draws out clear definition in his wines. There is noticeable clarity between the brothers’ many terroirs in Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin, impressive precision indeed.
