2009 Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Maison Roche de Bellene

Nicolas Potel achieved perfect balance with this superlative wine: every component is equally big and impressive, from the very tight and ripe tannic structure to the mid-palate of dark cherries with a rich chocolatey edge and finally to the spicy and incredibly long finish. This wine certainly deserves its Grand Cru status.

2009 Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Maison Roche de Bellene
Nicolas Potel

In 2005, Nicolas built up his own Estate, Domaine de Bellene, in the Côte de Beaune. Then in 2008 launched his new negociant business called "Maison Roche de Bellene" which also includes a range of very rare older vintages, under the name "Collection Bellenum". These wines, dating back to 1959 are the result of a very strict selection of old vintages exceptionally released from the wine cellars of some of the most famous producers of Burgundy.
