2009 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Ponsot

2009 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru, Domaine Ponsot

Despite the similarities to the Griotte (same age of vines, same vinegrowing techniques and same harvest date), the two wines could not be more different. The Chapelle-Chambertin is very powerful, with grippy tannins and plenty of sweet spice and vanilla character, despite the use of very old barrels. This is a wine of remarkable character for long-term ageing.
