2008 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveaux, Jean Grivot

Deep natured, with superb density, this has fine, pure fruit and a spiced touch. Bright and vibrant on the palate, a mineral vein creates a linear style, yet this retains a layered sense. Excellent.

2008 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveaux, Jean Grivot
Domaine Jean Grivot

Patriarch Jean Grivot passed on the domaine to his son, Etienne, in 1987, who is now passing the torch on to his daughter Mathilde. With densely planted old vines, tended organically, yields are low and complexity high. As the grapes pass through Etienne and Mathilde’s cellar, her lightness of touch builds on the trend of this superb address towards purity and refinement, without losing any of the tell-tale structure. At this benchmark Burgundy domaine, Grivot’s wines remain impressive.
