One of the best value dry whites in Bordeaux, G de Guiraud from Château Guiraud is a firm favorite at Lay & Wheeler. In this warmer vintage it’s rich and peachy with sharp lemon on the palate. There’s some more delicate white flower notes on the nose and plenty of freshness.
Such a consistent dry white in the appellation, this has the exotic mango, pineapple and nectarine depths to the fruit that is typical to the vintage, given a lift by pineapple and citrus zest. Good stuff, now overseen by Sandrine Garbay, formerly of Château d'Yquem.
