1986 is remembered as a tannic year in Bordeaux, with wines that have taken quite some time to soften and open up. So this is showing absolutely beautifully several decades later: there’s still some fruit on the nose and palate, slowly giving way to the gorgeous tobacco leaf and forest floor that develop with time, all giving way to a balanced, complex palate with everything in place.
