Tasting notes

A bigger, riper, sexier wine, the 2022 Roc De Cambes just about jumps out of the glass with its exotic red and blue fruits as well as vanilla bean, sweet spice, and acacia flower-like aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has beautiful tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a great finish. It shows the riper, opulent style of the vintage, yet it has a core of ripe tannins and mid-palate depth that keeps it nicely focused and balanced. It's a gorgeous wine that's unfortunately hard to find in the market.

93—95/100

Mingling aromas of sweet cherries and cassis with notions of licorice, espresso roast and spices, the 2022 Roc de Cambes is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a broad-shouldered profile, framed by powdery tannins, and concluding with a chalky finish. This is always the most structured wine in the Mitjaville portfolio.

The 2022 Roc de Cambes is a wild, exotic wine that captures all the natural intensity of the year. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, chocolate, spice, licorice, lavender and hard candy all race out of the glass. The 2022 is pretty exuberant, so readers should expect a flamboyant wine that approaches the sort of richness that is often found in the flagship Tertre Rôteboeuf. Roc de Cambes is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
