2019 Château Bel-Air, Lussac St-Emilion
The 2019 Château Bel-Air is a beautifully made Lussac that belies its humble appellation in one of the St-Emilion satellites. The fruit is aromatic and energetic, with blackberry and mulberry. It’s racy and expressive out of the gate, but there’s a depth and well-structured (but velvety) tannins that suggest it could age. There’s a lot of wine for your money here, and purity like this is hard to come by at this point in the pricing ladder.
