2017 Château Margaux, 1er Cru Margaux

2017 Château Margaux, 1er Cru Margaux

There's wonderful intensity and purity to this Margaux - there's crunchy fruit, and it's crystalline and concentrated on the palate, with a clean saline edge. They compare it to 1996 - it maybe lacks quite that depth, but it's gorgeously transparent and nicely textured, with fine, lovely tannins and great length.

Tasting notes

This is a very dense Margaux, and especially for the vintage, with a full body, grainy tannins and a long and rich finish. Impressive depth of fruit and structure. Luscious and muscular at the same time.
