Mouton-Rothschild Administrator Philippe Dalhuin said that Petit Mouton is ‘too good’ during our visit, and the quality gap to the Grand Vin is narrow indeed. A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon & 7% Merlot, the nose is taciturn at this young stage. The palate is incredibly precise, neat and linear complemented with a silky fruit texture which is intense and persistent. This is well-honed and sets a new standard for this wine.
