2014 Château Léoville-Barton, Cru Classé St-Julien

A knockout St-Julien in 2014, Léoville-Barton is again much denser than Langoa but Lilian Barton has limited the new oak to 60%, the same as 2012 and 2013. This beautifully expresses the purity of fruit with a concentrated purple colour yet wonderful fragrance. A very engaging palate, very lacy fruit with a subtle and well-managed grippy structure.
