This is proof that great Pomerol needn’t come at a price, Plince is a long-standing Lay & Wheeler favourite and the 2013 continues a run of excellent recent releases. Ripe and generous on the palate, plums and chocolate with toasty oak. The tannins and acidity are fairly pronounced but with time in bottle these will soften to reveal a beautifully pure and fragrant Pomerol, anyone hunting for an “under the radar” bargain should look no further.
