2011 Carruades de Château Lafite, Pauillac

The second wine of Château Lafite, Carruades always offers a more approachable expression of the Grand Vin, but in 2011 it has truly excelled. Deep purple hues and notes of pure cassis and fresh, juicy blackberry are followed on the palate by an almost sweet, rounded texture and a firm tannic structure. The whole is expertly balanced and quite delicious.
