2010 Château Pavie, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

2010 Château Pavie, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

Never the most elegant or refined of styles, 2010 Pavie is unsurprisingly a huge wine. Notes of dark berry fruit and spice on the nose, follow into a broad, dense palate. A weighty core of black fruit is enswathed in ripe, broad tannins, but there is a seam of freshness that brings some balance. While by no means classic, this is a very well-made wine indeed.
