2010 Château Gazin, Pomerol

The delightful nose of summer pudding fruits and a touch of almond is most attractive. Good length and structure support the fruit and offer a complete wine. The silky tannins and excellent texture combine with the delicious raspberry, blackberry and loganberry fruit for a balanced, elegant wine.

2010 Château Gazin, Pomerol
Château Gazin

Château Gazin is situated on the northern edge of the appellation, with vineyards on prime gravel and clay soils and sharing a border with Petrus and L’Evangile. Indeed, some parts of the vineyard share the same vein of clay soil for which Petrus is so renowned. Gazin went through decades in the wilderness from its golden age of the 19th century until the late 1980s, but has been firmly improving since, converting to complete hand-harvesting, reduced yields, and introducing a second wine.
