Château Palmer have described 2010 as having the potential to be "legendary vintage" and there is no doubt that they have made a monumental wine. A large percentage of Merlot (54%) in the blend pushed the alcohol levels to an all time high of 14.5%, though this is veiled by the immense concentration of the fruit and tannin, as well as the freshness that is so typical of this vintage. Layered and intense, this is a brooding wine, with bold tannins and a dense fruit core. Masculine in character, this will need considerable time to resolve, but should do so in fine style.
