2009 Château Belair-Monange, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

2009 Château Belair-Monange, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

"We are happy" declared Edouard Moeuix. This is the third vintage of this great property under Moueix's stewardship and easily the best I have tasted by some margin. The nose is seductive, with notes of lavender, crushed raspberry and exotic spices. Typically refined and elegant, but this vintage displays also a lovely sense of volume and glossy, fine tannins. Complex and powerful, yet with a feminine touch and a lingering finish. Excellent.
