2008 Château Canon, 1er Grand Cru Classé St-Emilion

Deep in the glass, with aromas of ripe stone-fruit and hints of spice, reminiscent of moist fruit-cake. On the palate there is a wealth of fruit – broad, layered with mineral notes and an appealing vibrancy. There is nothing harsh here, but there is a cool ripeness, fresh and pure, with good density and fine-grained, underpinning tannins. One of the stronger vintages of Canon for some time. Very fine.
