A real stand-out from Pauillac this vintage, Pichon-Longueville has excelled, qualitatively punching beyond its weight. Exuding sweet, ripe, black fruit on the nose. The palate is fine-tuned with an impressive core of blackcurrant, liquorice and graphite. This is fuller than many Pauillac this vintage, with a juicy appealing fruit of notable purity. Taut, with plenty of direction and some austere youthful tannin, this is candidate for longer term cellarage and ranks as one of the wines of the vintage. An impressive showing. Robert Parker: 92-94
